Dan took to the big stage last weekend when he travelled to Europe to take part in the the Moriwaki 250Juniorcup run by Ten Kate. The Elite Surfacing Limited rider who is current British Mini moto champion relished the chance of  riding on the international circuit and did not disappoint his growing audience.

Dan explains “Friday was the first time I had ever ridden the Honda powered 250cc fourstroke, I was excited but nervous! The morning went well and my lap times were soon falling as I got used to the bike”.

With a day of practice and setting up the bike to Dan’s specification the lap times were soon getting closer to the front runners. Qualifying1 and 2 were held Saturday morning and with a good set up the team were hoping for a top 15 grid position and after improving in each lap Dan managed to put the Elite Surfacing backed bike onto P11 for the afternoon races.

“Race 1 was cut to 7 laps after a red flag incident but I managed to hold onto the 11th place which was a good base for the next race”, says Dan.  “Race 2 was 10 laps and with a good start I managed to stay with the leading pack. After some close racing with changes of positions I was able to clinch 10th place. I can’t wait for the next round to do it all again!”

Steve said “We are extremely proud of  Dan’s achievement this weekend, he has shown how much he has grown as a racer, holding his nerve against top class opposition  Dan’s attitude was impeccable, he conducted himself well and was a good ambassador for British sport.  We would like to thank Elite Surfacing Limited, CW Joinery and everyone else who has contributed to making this happen.  To join our growing team visit www.jonesbrothersracing.co.uk.”[slideshow_deploy id=’97’]
